Japan Holiday

Day 1 & 2

Took All Nippon Airway 767, it was a small plane... couldn't stretch my legs, got muscle aches and pain at the join area, especially my knees. It was really unbearable, through out the plane ride I couldn't even sleep a wink, sky channel program was really limited and I have already watched most of the movies it was screening. 6 hour journey seems like 60 hours... sigh... I hate plane rides but I love to travel, how can I fly to Europe next time when I cannot even endure that few hours journey?

Finally touched down at Narita airport at about 7am in the morning, waited for the rest to check out of the airport.... waited for almost an hour! Sigh... some of the people were held up at the custom due to some quarantine issues. People from countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam need to fill up declaration forms due to the H5N1 virus. After they have gotten out of the clearance, we still need to wait longer for them to brush their teeth..... I promised myself this will be the last group tour I joined. Next trip, I wanna go free and easy!

After everyone gathered, we took a coach to Tokyo Subway Station to take the bullet train. According to the tour guide it's maximum speed is 280 to 300km/h. It was only a 15 minutes ride from Tokyo station to New Yokohama station because the tour guide mentioned that the cost for bullet train ticket was very expensive. It was my 2nd time on a bullet train, I went to Japan 8 years ago, with my parents. We managed to get seats then but this time the train were so packed we ended up standing in the middle of the joined cabin. There were smoking cabins and non smoking cabins, kinda cool eh!

This year's winter is the hottest for Japan, temperature ranges from as high as 15 degrees Celsius to lowest of only 8 degrees Celsius.

Supposed to take this Pirate ship and sail to the opposite side of the island, but it was canceled due to strong horizontal wind. The wind was blowing fiercely, so much so that I was unwillingly moved forward a few more steps. Damn cold!

Afterwards we had to climb up to one of a life volcano mountain near mount Fuji, there were strong smell of sulphur and many hot springs. But BUT it's too hot to take a bath in there... can kill! Had to climb up to about 1050 metres and we can't go on anymore coz the wind was too strong and I almost couldn't feel my ears except PAIN! For a moment, I thought my ears will drop out any time!

Followed by visiting wasabi plantation, it was my first time seeing how an unprocessed wasabi looked like. Quite unique, looked like carrot in green costumes! hahaha.

The 1st night we put up at a hot spring hotel near Mount Fuji (New Century Hotel), my room could see Mount Fuji standing infront of me!

I loved this room! Japanes style tatami and it was a huge room. Hotels in Tokyo or Osaka can never be this big.... therefore I enjoyed my night there.

I love Japan!
