Did anyone realized that the public toilets in any shopping centres are not very friendly to big size or pregnant women? I did not have any problem getting in and out of small cubicles when I was still slim. But now...
The cubicles are so narrow, the door designed to open inwards but due to limited space, it almost touch the toilet seat once fully opened. Few days back at one of the shopping centre toilet in the west, the door almost hit onto my big tummy as I tried to get out of the cubicle. I have to be real careful when I walked in to one, stand to the tiny space beside the toilet seat and close the door... same method for getting out of the toilet. I hated it as there are still a lot of uncivilizes shoppers that weren't toilet trained! They pee every where except into the bowl! I wonder did any penis got into our woman's toilet, if not why the seats are always wet, the floor of the toilet will also be stained with urine...
Ok enough of toilet, lets talk about the mass majority, the public. People walking towards me will not give way, men or women, young or old. They just bump right onto me, either knocking my shoulders or hitting my bags. Mind you, it wasn't crowded at all, they could have conveniently stepped away but they just walk straight onto me. To protect my belly, I have to give way to people most of the time, ok I am being humble, ALL THE TIME! If I didn't stop for them to walk pass me or stepped aside, my tummy would have been knocked onto many times. Even then I still get knocked onto many times. Sickening.
Shoppers at grocery stalls, or supermarket tends to push their shopping cart or trolley without maintaining eye contact in front. Even if they have, they still push their trolley right at me! I had to quickly move aside or used my hands to block their trolleys to prevent them from hitting onto me. Sometimes Jeff got so worked up that he kicked and pushed their trolley away from me. What's wrong with these people!!!!!
Last weekend Jeff and I was at Suntec city food republic to have snacks and coffee, it was very crowded but we were lucky and managed to get a table real fast. Not far away from my sight I saw a pregnant lady in her second trimester waiting patiently beside a table. When the table was finally empty, an aunty quickly grabbed the chair and sat down at the table with her teenager! That pregnant lady could not believe what she saw and in dismay, she just walked away. You should have taken a look at that aunty's facial expression, really feel like giving her a BIG TIGHT SLAP!
I asked Jeff, hypothetically, if I were to take a public transport, MRT or buses, will anyone give up seats for me? I told him why not we test it out, he said he will get real mad if no one offers their seat for me and he will just grab anyone up from their seat to let me have it. Hearing that I dropped the idea, not because there will be no seat for me, but I do not want Jeff to get angry over uncivilized Singaporeans and create a commotion.
Can anyone tell me are the schools in Singapore still offering social moral education to children? I recalled there is a non examination subject call 好公明 when I was in primary school. So much for grumbling today.
Let's talk about happy things to boast up the mood. My brother has been telling me that there is this Chinese restaurant at Marina Square that cook very good roasted herbal duck and their set dinners are not only affordable, good portion and great taste. Therefore we were there last weekend.
Ok let me introduce their set dinner, we ordered the cheaper one, set dinner for 2 at $33++:
Yummy, I am hungry, I want to eat! Ouchs baby just kicked me! hehehe wanted to record a video of my tummy moving and post on the blog but shy........ As she has been gaining her weight and growing bigger, her pool size gets smaller, so her every little movements will be felt by me. Sometimes the movement was so great that I jumped and jerked. When I was out, I still have to maintain a cool facial expression and pretended that she didn't kick me REAL HARD!
Yesterday was doing some grocery shopping at GIANT, suddenly a well dress lady in her 40s walked up to me and told me that I must be having a baby boy. She said according to her analysis, my tummy shape is long and sharp therefore it must be a baby boy. Well I politely replied that she was wrong and I am expecting a baby girl as we have seen the ultra sound scan many times during every gynae visit. Not convinced, she carried on saying that scans can be wrong and started relenting a story to me that her relative thought she was expecting a baby girl as what the scan showed but during delivery, to her shocking discovery she gave birth to a boy instead. And she had to throw away all the girly stuff she has prepared for the baby and buy new ones. -__-''' Jeff kept saying that we have seen the scan many times and confirmed and re confirmed that it was a baby girl, but she kept saying that scans can be wrong, not accurate blar blar... Jeff almost got into a debate with her but I pulled him away.
Can you imagine that this happened while 2 innocent parties were just trying to grab some groceries? Anyway she didn't sound like Singaporean, she spoke like a Taiwanese. The problem is does it matter to her if my baby is a boy or girl? Scary... suddenly thought of a story line in CSI... pregnant women were victims, their tummy being cut open and forcefully pulled out their babies and they were left to bleed to death. Their babies were being kept away and sold to families opting for adoption at a very high price.
OMG enough said. Didn't realize I wrote such a long post today.

I went through exactly what you are experiencing. I can't believe Singaporeans are so insensitive towards pregnant women! Just be very careful when you're in supermarkets coz I was concentrating on trolleys lang-ga on me but instead, I had running children running and almost knocked on my tummy. Once I was at a foodcourt just 2 weeks before delivery and an auntie asked if I'm expecting a boy coz my tummy was pointed and my belley button was very pertruding. I said no, I'm having a gal and she went on to ask if I'm expecting twins. Duhz. You just don't know what to do with these people.
