Recipe for Baby Food
Chicken Stock - Makes about 1.5 litres
Dried Chinese Mushrooms 5
Water 2 litres
Chicken 800g (I used one whole chicken)
1. Wash the dried mushrooms and place them into a small bowl. Add some warm water and leave the mushrooms to soak for about 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. Pour the 2 litres of water into a pot and bring it to the boil. Add the chicken and mushrooms, then cover with a lid.
3. Once the water returns to the boil, reduce heat and gently simmer for 2 hours.
4. When the stock is ready, remove the chicken and mushrooms and strain the stock through a sieve. Allow to cool before using.
Vegetable Stock - Makes about 1.5 litres
White Onions 2
Carrots 2
Sweet Corn 1
Celery 4 stalks
Long Chinese Cabbage 500g
Water 2 litres
1. Wash all the vegetables. Peel the onions and carrots. Remove the husk and silk from the sweet corn. Cut all the vegetables into medium size pieces.
2. Bring the water to the boil in a pot. Add all the chopped vegetables and cover the pot with a lid. When the water returns to boil, lower heat and gently simmer for 2 hours.
3. Strain the stock and allow it to cool before using.

More delicious recipes from the above book. I chose this book as it includes recipes with an Asian flavour. I live with some old fashion folks that will nag at me for preparing stuff too fusion or too western for Natalie. They commented that Asian babies are different from Western babies and their recipes are not always suitable for Natalie. Luckily I found this book if not I am not able to shut their unnecessary comments. They include recipes up to 2 years old so you don't have to worry that this book will be useless after your baby grow up.
